Maggie and I have an announcement 

 

We want to inform our customers that we are restructuring the business, and have decided to close the retail, servicing, and gas side of our dive business Bristol Channel Diving Services in Cardiff at the end of August 2026, we have sold the premises so no going back !. This will give us the freedom to concentrate on our media support work and HSE courses.

It’s been a great thirty one years (exactly in August !) from when we both started running the recreational side of the business a long time ago in 1995, and we have made some fantastic long term friends, and, had a blast along the way.

 

We want to say thanks to all of our suppliers who have been with us along this road, some from the very start of the business like Marcus and Sean @ O’Three, James @ Sea & Sea, Julian @ Revolution Air, Dave @ IDEST, Andy @ ScubaPro, Al @ Liquid Sports, Mike @ Undersea Products, Rob Lumb, James Munt, Dave at ESPRIT, my old mate Richard Bull, and many many others who were there for us, and encouraged us along the way.

 

We have always taken the approach of ‘let’s talk’ to other dive shop’s and professional’s in the industry and have a two way conversation with them rather than looking over our shoulders, which means that over the years we have worked with, and trained, some remarkable ‘characters’ which I have always enjoyed doing.

 

We have also been lucky over the years and had some great people work for the business who we are indebted to for their shear hard work and enthusiasm. That they have come and gone over the years, usually to further their own careers in diving, has always been a double-edged sword, a PITA that you have trained them and now need to start that process again, tempered by the thought that they are hooked, and it’s now it’s become their careers. More power to them, and if we helped in that process, then that makes us smile.

 

However well we were supported by our suppliers, and staff, it could not have happened without all our valued diving customers over the years who made this all such a pleasure to go to work each day for. 

So to you, a special thank you from both of us, you know who you are, and we wish you all the best for the future.

 

 

Diving has been my working life for 45 years now and has given us so much over the years, so I am not ready to finish work yet. I will be concentrating my time on the media support work and HSE training courses we run, where I am privileged to work with some of the best underwater film crews in the world. I also need to be getting back in the water diving myself, something I have missed over the last few years where workload has had to take the priority over me going diving !

Although I do have to say that work is going to be in between fishing on the river Wye by our house, getting out on my motorbikes, and enjoying more time with Maggie and my mates.
